2016/2017 SEASON: FEBRUARY 2017 FIXTURE:

SOUTHAMPTON VS LEICESTER CITY:

We are desperate for win after falling from the top spot.  The next 2 fixture at home will be important to us.  Home comfort is what we need after traveling most of our games last month.

Leicester is without Mahrez for this match but the likes of Vardy, van Ginkel and Drinkwater will be important for them.  

Ounas is back for our side.  I really missed him at my right flank.  Redmond is not consistent enough in his game.

Another draw.  Ginkel sees red but we did not take advantage of it.  Bad performance by our attacking trio.  Disappointed to let Vardy equalize at last minute.  Bad covering by Forster.

SOUTHAMPTON VS MANCHESTER UNITED:

A must win game for us in order to catch up with Man Utd.  A six pointer game.  I wanted this win very badly at home in front of our fans.  

De Gea has not conceded for few games now.  It will be tough to beat him on his day.  Ibrahimovic will key player for Man Utd. 

I am putting in the same squad with Pulisic replacing Depay at the left.  Depay is unavailable against his own club.

A solid win for us at home.  Hattrick from Origi.  What a beast!  We love this player.

SOUTHAMPTON VS YOUNG BOYS:

EURO Cup 2nd round match.  I've replace Boufal with Cedric in my EURO Cup squad as I feel we need depth in that area of our team.  

Expected an easy win at home for us.

A good 3-0 win for us.  A good performance by Depay and Austin.  

YOUNG BOYS VS SOUTHAMPTON:

I'm putting the same squad as the first leg.  We strongly believe we can hold on to the 3-0 lead.

A draw away from home to secure us the next round in EURO Cup.  Looking forward for our next game in EPL.

LIVERPOOL VS SOUTHAMPTON:

I am going to recall back our first 11 to the team after two EURO Cup match.  A very special match for me to play against Liverpool in Anfield.  

Coutinho, Mane, Firmino and Sturridge will be dangerous.  Just see how they terrorist EPL defenders this season.

A good win away from home.  Origi continue his fine goal scoring form and Depay score the winning goal bench.  Thunderstrike from left using his right leg.  Beautiful goal.  Emotional win for me personally.

After continuous of win in our final 2 EPL games of the month.  We are just one point below the league leader.  I am convinced that we can continue our fine form.  Go SAINTS!

2016/2017 SEASON: JANUARY 2017 FIXTURE:

SOUTHAMPTON VS MIDDLESBROUGH:

We starting the first game of the year at home.  I am putting a surprise line up with the believe that we can secure a 3 points at home after impressive run of good form.  

Negredo will be very key for them in the attack. 

I am start Depay in the attack ahead of Austin.

Impressive win for us at home.  Wonderful team performance particullaly Depay for his first hattrick.  Great win.  

SOUTHAMPTON VS IPSWICH TOWN:

FA Cup match against Ipswich Town.  I am starting the same flank as the previous game and Austin as striker in the attack.

A bore 0-0.  Setting attacking mode for most part of our game but we don't any dangerous attempt on goal.  

BURNLEY VS SOUTHAMPTON:

A very difficult match away from home.  We are hoping for a win to stretch our lead.

Keane unfit for this match and Defour will be key for them in the midfield.  

We trying to dominate them in the middle of the park and build up the play from the midfield.

We manage to secure a 2-2 draw from Depay great equalizer.  A great goal from Gray as well in this game.   Poor result from us.

IPSWICH TOWN VS SOUTHAMPTON:

FA Cup replay match.  After a bore draw and unsatisfied performance from us.  I decided to start the same squad as per our earlier encounter.  I hope they will go to the match and fight the pride back to our team.  Depay starting on the left as Boufal left to AFCON to represent his country.

A poor performance from us.  Bad finishing.  We cannot finish off the chances we created in the game.  Poor!  Early exit from the FA Cup will not please our board.

SWANSEA VS SOUTHAMPTON:

Away from home play in The Liberty will be very difficult.  My assistant were mentioning in the interview that we have to seek for revenge from our early EFL Cup exit against the Swan.

Llorente and Dyer will be key for them in the attack.  Dyer will be supporting the experience striker with his pace to stretch our defensive line.  Ki and Sigurdsson will be dictating their game from the middle.  We have to be wary of all this fact.

We are starting Depay on the right and Pulisic on the left.  I am not happy with the current form of Redmond.

A good performance from our side.  We didn't get our win due to wonderful performance by Fabianski at their goal.  A few beautiful safes from the keeper to keep the team going.

CHELSEA VS SOUTHAMPTON: 

Chelsea is not doing so well in the league at the moment.  They ranked 11th in the table.  I feel they are a good side with tremendous talent in the team.  We have to work hard for full 90 minutes.

Hazard, Costa and Kante will be important for Chelsea.  

Origi is back from injury and we are starting him in this match.

Is a good draw for us but I feel we could snatch for a win in the end.  We couldn't make use of our luck after Chelsea 2 sending off.  Good defensive performance from their side after 2 sending off.  Hats off! 

Is not a good month for us.  I think our team focus is not good enough after a strings of good matches.  We need to be consistent in our game in coming months.  Let's support the Saints!

2016/2017 SEASON: DECEMBER FIXTURE:

HULL CITY VS SOUTHAMPTON:

A very interesting match to start the month with, away against the Hull.  I predicted a tough game ahead as they are a very defensive side.  A difficult side to break down especially in their home matches.

Huddlestone will be their dictator in the midfield, will assign Neves to close him down. 

Good run of late.  Let's continue!

A good 1-0 win for us.  We converted one of the two shots on target.  Ugly win but most importantly is the 3 points.

AJAX VS SOUTHAMPTON:

This match is not that important to us because we had qualified to the next round but a win will stand us at No.1 in the group.

Anyways, I'm resting few of my key players for this game.

The biggest loss in our EURO Cup match.  Let's move forward and focus in the EPL matches.  We are standing at No. 1 at the moment.  I'm starting to believe that we can win the title this season.  

SOUTHAMPTON VS CRYSTAL PALACE:

Looking forward for this match after EURO Cup disappointment.  A tough match ahead but I am expecting a win for sure at home.

Benteke, Zaha and Townsend will be leading their attacking line.  Cabaye will be dictating their game in the middle of the park.  

I am looking to forward to earn 3 points for this match.

A bad performance by us today.  Concede in 72 minutes is always a disappointment.

MAN CITY VS SOUTHAMPTON:

Difficult match ahead.  After a bad result in the previous game, I hope the team will do their best in this game.  Man City will be the favourite for this game but I believe in my team's ability.

We have to wary in all of their players, specifically Aguero.  One of the best striker in the world.

Origi is unavailable for this match.  Austin will lead the line and I'll be focusing on counter attacking game for this one.

What a win away from home!  What a performance!  A win is definitely a bonus for us.  Our team is brimming with confidence at the moment.  Hooray!

TOTTENHAM VS SOUTHAMPTON:

After a tough match and a brilliant performance in previous game, I expect the same for this game.  I am expecting a win this time around.  I believe we can create wonder.

Kane will key for them but let's not forget the threat of Erikson and also Lamela.  

I just hope we can secure another 3 points in a week.

A very disappointing match.  They dominating us in this match.  We had chance to qualify but couldn't convert it.  Disappointment!

SOUTHAMPTON VS EVERTON:

We are looking for home comfort for this game after the loss to Tottenham.  I realized that we miss Origi goal scoring habit.  

Lukaku will be key for Everton alongside Bolasie and Barkley. 

We will try to control the match and attack from the flank.  We are to test Coleman and Baines' pace for this match.

A good win for us!  What a performance by Ward-Prowse dictating the game in the middle of the park.

SOUTHAMPTON VS WEST HAM:

Another home match in our fixture.  Hectic fixture in the month of December due to festive period but we have the squad depth to deal with thanks to my intelligent summer signing.

West Ham is performing very well in the league at the moment.  The likes of Payet and Lanzini is always a threat to any team.  

We will do it again without Origi due to injury but we will do our best to beat them with our home support.

3-0 win!  A brace from Austin.  He is showing that he is there fighting for his first team spot.  A good headache for any manager.  

SOUTHAMPTON VS SUNDERLAND:

The last game before the start of New Year.  I am going to encourage the team to go for win so that all of us can celebrate a good New Year end the half season standing at the top of table. 

Defoe will be a threat for sure.  We are going to mark him tightly.

Let's hope Austin can continue his goal scoring form!

What a win for us!  Another brace from Austin!  What a game!  4-0 win at home always please the fan.  

Half a season gone and we are at the top of EPL.  Honestly, I did not expect this for our first season.  Commitment from the whole team is the key reason why we are here at the top.  

2016/2017 SEASON: NOVEMBER 2016 FIXTURE:

SOUTHAMPTON VS FH:

Although FH fought us well in our previous match but I'm expecting an easy encounter against FH this time around in front of our crowd.  The reason is I've study the way they play, they defended all the way and hit us on the counter.  We gotta play with patient in this game by moving the all around all the way and hit them when there is space.

As expected, easy win for us at home.  A brace from Pulisic and a power header from Austin seal the win. 

WBA VS SOUTHAMPTON:

A very tough match against the stubborn Tony Pulis' side.  We need to be focus the whole of 90 minutes.

Berahino and Rondon will be key for their side.

I'm going start my tactic by attacking them from the start as I believe we've got a better squad compared to WBA and to play fast attacking football will give them lesser time to control the match at the Hawton.

Nervy win in the end after 2 goals up.  WBA attacked us until the end.  Thanks to Forster brilliant save at the 90th minute secured us 3 points.

International Break...

SOUTHAMPTON VS WATFORD:

I'm looking forward to this match as it was an advantage for us to get home comfort after international break.  So far, we had a good record at home.

Watford is a very good side with Deeney and Ighalo leading the line and let's not forgotten their marquee summer signing from Juventus, Pereyra.

We are very confident going into this match at home.  Expecting a win for our side.  Good luck team.

A solid win.  3 points carry us nearer to the top.  The run of good form really helping us at the moment.  I really this run of form will maintain for a long time.

SOUTHAMPTON VS LOSC:

We are in a comfortable situation at the moment in EURO Cup.  So I'm going to rest a few key players for this match.

Another superb performance by Pulisic.  Now I am start to wonder who is better between Pulisic and Depay.  Pulisic form is tremendous!  We've qualified for the next round.  Target achieved after a nervy start in EURO Cup campaign.

SOUTHAMPTON VS STOKE CITY:

I take this match as a very difficult match as Mark Hughes side play the same way we do.  Stoke had a fantastic squad with the likes of Shaqiri and Co. 

They will be dangerous at the flank lead by Shaqiri and Arnautovic.  Bojan is very good scorer as well.  Shaqiri not being fully fit will be an advantage to us.

We going to keep the run going.  Depay back to the side.  Cedric to replace injured Danilo.

We dominated the whole match and fantastic performance by the whole team.  We deserved the win.  The win carry us to the top as Man Utd lost to Tottenham.  I am so glad with the performance by us since the start of the campaign.
